Diamonds Shine Brighter than the Stars at the Grammy’s, But Just Barely

Diamonds and happy couples were out in full force at the Grammy Awards this weekend, with celebrities displaying the latest trends in jewelry fashion, as well as the appreciation for music.

Everyone’s favorite newlywed couple, Katy Perry and Russell Brand walked the red carpet for the ceremony, where Perry performed a medley of her songs.  The Grammy’s may not be home sweet home for Brand, and comic and actor, but such is the nature of the beast when you are married to a Grammy nominated singer like Perry.

The couple, who has always been very open about their relationship, from their first date to their matching wedding rings, enjoyed a little public display of affection before the show.  And speaking of sharing, seen through the gauzy backdrop of Perry’s set were what is said to be never before seen shots from their wedding in India.  Even Perry’s grandmother was in attendance, sporting a diamond encrusted cane, solidifying their place as Hollywood’s cutest family.

Another happy, although slightly more controversial couple in attendance was LeAnn Rimes and Eddie Cibrian, who recently became engaged with he presented the singer with a diamond and Rose gold custom designed engagement ring over the holidays.  The country singer, who was nominated for  Best Female Country Vocal Performance, was sporting an elegant gold gown, complete with Emerald bracelets, which are rapidly becoming the year’s hottest gemstone.  Although Rimes didn’t win, she later told reporters that she was just happy to have Cibrian by her side.

Another fashion favorite in attendance was Jennifer Lopez, who lately has focused more on her judging duties on American Idol than her own music career, sporting not one, but two giant diamond rings, one for each hand.

Who was sporting your favorite look at the Grammy’s this year, and who was a disappointment?
