Kelsey Grammer has made his intention to marry girlfriend Kayte Walsh as soon as possible, and not even their age difference has slowed his step, as the couple will be exchanging wedding rings tomorrow in New York City.
“Kayte and I are marrying because we are engaged and we are engaged because we are in love and see no reason to postpone our happiness any longer,” Grammer told NY Daily News in a statement earlier this year. “We are planning something we wish to be a private affair among several of our friends.”
‘Several friends’ is a relative term when dealing with celebrities it seems, however the affair will be as private as possible with no cameras allowed at the reception held for their 150 guests.
Despite being at City Hall recently for his eldest daughter’s wedding, Grammer’s fourth trip to the altar will be at the iconic Manhattan Plaza Hotel’s ballroom, as will the reception. And with an estimated price tag of $100,000, it seems like for Walsh, no price is too high, no wish too great.
The bride-to-be has been busy planning everything from the venue, to the all-white cake and décor, and even the multi course feast. The menu will consist of such fare as ginger prawns, Andouille en croute; turkey breast stuffed with chorizo stuffing, and braised short ribs. But there will plenty for the vegetarians in attendance, which include the bride herself, with dishes like goat cheese truffles and wild mushroom risotto.
The cake will be designed by Sylvia Weinstock, who has been used by celebrities like P. Diddy Combs and Jennifer Lopez, however according to documents obtain by the website TMZ, the cake will me for display only. Instead the guests will enjoy an array of desserts, like bittersweet chocolate tarts.
Grammer met Walsh while he starring in the revival of the Jerry Herman/Harvey Fierstein musical La Cage aux Folles this past spring in New York City, where the couple now resides.
The pair has been engaged since July, and was spotted looking very happy on a pre-wedding honeymoon in Miami last week, and Grammer even rushed his divorce from his ex in order to marry the 26 year old, former flight attendant from England.
