Hugh Hefner and his 26 year old fiancé Crystal Harris have finally set the date for their upcoming nuptials, and while it will be the third wedding the legendary playboy mansion has hosted, it coincidentally is also the third trip down the aisle for Hef himself.
The ceremony is set for this June 18th at the Playboy mansion, and much like former girlfriend Kendra Wilkinson, who married NFL player Hank Baskett there in 2009; Harris has decided to stick to pastel colors.
In a recent interview in The New Yorker, Harris and Playboy publicist Kellie Olisky, who has also been acting as unofficial wedding planner, shared some of the big day’s details.
It seems that the bride to be has already chosen her gown, and has her heart set on a blush colored strapless gown with dramatic mermaid skirt by designer Romona Keveza. The chosen gown was part of a collection of dresses sent over from New York to the Beverly Hills boutique “Panache.”
The dress, it seems, will be the inspiration for the décor actually with white and silver tablecloths and blush underlays, and even the cake will echo the rosettes on the gown’s skirt.
However, the cake itself is sure to be impressive, as it will be made by Hansen’s; the bakery to the stars. Although Hansen’s offers a variety of flavors in anything from Red Velvet to Banana Nut, this cake will be strawberry, Harris told The New Yorker, in deference to the groom’s preferences.
“Strawberry’s good. Like, cake that has strawberries in it? So good,” Harris said. “And Hef likes that kind, too. He eats the same thing every day. He has chicken-noodle soup every day at five o’clock.”
The 86 year old media mogul is so set in his ways that the couple’s Christmas Day engagement took almost everyone by surprise, except for Harris it seems.
“He asked me, ‘If I were to ask you to marry me, would you say yes?’ And I said, ‘Of course.’ So then Hef’s secretaries measured my ring finger,” Harris told the New Yorker.
The time and place however took Harris by surprise, and she reportedly burst into tears when presented with a three carat Round cut diamond engagement ring, set onto a band adorned with smaller Round cut diamonds.
The 24 year old model began dating Hefner in 2009, who was also seeing twins Kristina and Karissa Shannon at the time, but now remains the only lady in his life.
“It’s just us,” Harris told the magazine. “I mean, Hef has, like, had sex with a lot of people throughout the years, and that’s not important to him anymore.”
