“I fell in love with the Paradiso 3041P but I liked the scroll look of some of the other rings.  Until then I had never really saw a ring that truly caught my eye. I knew I wanted a solitaire but I also wanted something unique.”  Johnson said.  “And after visiting a local dealer we found out they could combine the two looks I love into my dream ring.”

The couple, who originally met in high school, weathered a two year long-distance relationship, only to be separated again for about six months while Kenshol trained for the State Police Department.

“It was while he was in police academy that I found Verragio’s Facebook page and immediately fell in love,” Johnson said.  “We had been dating for 5 years and everyone was wondering and waiting for him to finally propose.  Especially me.”

During a recent getaway this past September, Johnson was a proposal was on the way, but the trip was cut short when Kenshol was entered into a shooting competition.

“I couldn’t say no, because it was what he really wanted,” Johnson said.  “I took pictures and enjoyed watching him take first place in one of the challenges.”

That following Monday, home on her lunch break, Johnson found Kenshol, who works nights, wide awake and waiting.

“He kept asking if I had a good weekend and if I would change anything. I assured him I had a great time, and when I turned back he was on his knee in our kitchen and asked, ‘are you sure you wouldn’t change anything about this weekend,’” Johnson remembered.  “When I saw he had a ring box in his hand I blurted out, ‘are you kidding me right now?’ His response, of course, was ‘will you marry me?’”

In the box was what Johnson describes as the perfect ring; the Paradiso 3041R, customized with Insignia scrollwork inside of the band, and one more sentimental adjustment.

“One night while Dan was getting ready for work, I had mentioned it would be nice to incorporate a blue sapphire into my ring to show my commitment to him and his career; blue is a universal color of law officers,” Johnson shared.  “Being a Law Enforcement wife is not easy, but I wanted him to know I will always support him.”

With two Princess cut Sapphires set into the band under the center, it was exactly what Johnson was looking for: a unique solitaire ring.

“I am so proud of my ring and I get compliments all the time, and it is even more special because it is the only one like it,” Johnson said.  “And the ring has even more meaning because it is something we designed together.  Thank you Verragio.”

Shevell, Vice President of a family-owned transportation conglomerate, first began dating the former Beatle in 2007, shortly before his well-publicized divorce from Heather Mills was finalized in 2008.

Although McCartney is set to wed a confirmed New Yorker, the couple, who first announced their engagement this past May, the musician recently posted bans at the Westminster Register Office in London, which means they could marry as soon as next month.

Posting the bans is an old law that requires all couples to give at least a 16 day notice before they marry, at which they have up to a year before they must re-post.

The Marylebone Register Office, as it is commonly known, is the same venue where McCartney tied the knot with his first wife, Linda McCartney, in 1969.  The couple remained happily married until she passed away from breast cancer in 1998.

In 2002, McCartney took a second chance on love, and married former model, Heather Mills in a lavish million-dollar ceremony.  The couple had a daughter, Beatrice, in 2003, but the two soon separated in 2006, amid a public and contentious divorce.

But it seems McCartney is ready to take the plunge again and since May of 2011, Shevell has been seen sporting an enormous Round diamond engagement ring, reportedly worth around $650,000.  And although the couple has not announced an exact date, the ceremony is expected to be small family affair.

The internally flawless diamond, weighing in at 43.51 carats, is believed to be one of the largest flawless yellow diamonds in existence, according to the Associated Press, who spoke with Jenny Lynch from the company Bid4Assets.

‘This is the largest and most valuable diamond that we have auctioned in our company’s 12-year history,” Lynch, a spokesperson for the company that will be conducting the auction, said.

And although the diamond is sure to generate international interest, there has already been a fair amount from the United States, with 9,000 page views online already, according to Lisa Black, coordinator for the forfeiture unit in the Marshals Service’s northern Ohio district.

However, the rectangular brilliant cut diamond will come with a pretty sizable price tag; with a starting bid of $900,000, all subsequent bids must increase by an increment of $110,000.  In fact, there is a $180,000 refundable deposit required just to view the diamond while it is on display in Ohio.

als have not released the appraised value of the diamond, but believe that it could be worth millions, despite its original origins remaining a mystery.

Diamond Engagement Rings by Verragio

The Marshal Service has not been able to determine the mine of origin, but has confirmed that it has no connection to any famous or historic diamond.  However, Tom Moses, a senior vice president with the Gemological Institute of America that graded the diamond, said it is likely The Golden Eye came from southern Africa, due to its strong color.

The diamond, once owned by boxer Mike Tyson, will be up for auction beginning September 6^th, with some proceeds going to the federal government and some to state and local agencies that helped in the investigation that led to the diamond.

But for those who may have missed the announcement this past May, the proposal, complete with 20.5 carat diamond engagement ring,  will be shown on their reality show, “Keeping up with the Kardashians,” this season.

Preparations are well underway for the August 20th wedding; invitations have been sent, the dress has chosen, and even the registry managed to hit the public recently.

The couple, who registered at Gearys of Beverly Hills, is asking for a $1,250 sliver serving spoon, a $1,590 designer teapot, and an $840 dollar ashtray. There were less expensive items, like a $12.50 cloth napkin, however the most expensive request was a Baccarat crystal vase, which topped the list at $7,850.

The dress, it was recently announced, will be designed by bridal expert and world renowned designer Vera Wang. As a friend of the family for years, Wang was also asked to design the gown for sister Khloe’s wedding to LA Laker Lamar Odom back in 2009.

And finally there is the wedding cake; US Weekly it reporting that things might look a little familiar when the cake is rolled out this August. The ten-tier cake is said to have been inspired by The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, William and Kate, whose own wedding this past April  was watched by millions worldwide.

The Kardashian cake, a white cake with chocolate chip icing and a black and white design, will be provided by Hansen’s, a bakery frequented by celebrities, and is reported to have a price tag of $15,000 to $20,000.

There are still a few details that have yet to be revealed, such as the guest list, which some have estimated to be anywhere from 250 to 1,000, as well as the location. All will be not just revealed but televised this fall, in typical Kardashian fashion.

The wedding special, a four hour, two part show, will fittingly be entitled “Kim’s Fairytale Wedding: A Kardashian Event,” and will air this October on E! Television.

Their story as well as their love for Disney, however, began much earlier.

“Keith and I met back in 2004, when we were both doing the Walt Disney World College Program,” Byrd said.   “He was going to school in Maine and I was from Michigan. We had both been assigned to work in Attractions at Space Mountain. I would say we became fast friends. We loved hanging out together and exploring the Disney Parks.”

Their parting at the end of the program, however, was an emotional one.  “It was hardest for me to say goodbye to Keith. I didn’t know why, but I couldn’t stop crying,” Byrd said.

Over the years though, the friends stayed in touch and eventually found their way back to Florida, and to each other.

“When we were both here, you could tell something was different, there was a spark that neither one of us felt before. We were best friends, but there was definitely something more,” Byrd said.  “We have officially been together for 2 ½ years.”

With the future firmly in mind, Gilmore wanted only the best for Byrd.

“I wanted Jenn to have the ring of her dreams and invited her to look at rings for both of us,” Gilmore said.  “We visited a variety of jewelry stores but she consistently returned to the Verragio display after trying on every other ring in the store.”

But Verragio, Byrd shared, had always been in the back of her mind.

“I loved Verragio for many years. I always looked and dreamed of getting a Verragio ring when I got engaged.  So when it came to picking a ring, I looked to find where they were sold in our area,” Byrd said.  “Once we got there, we literally tried on every ring they had in the store. Verragio was the one that looked and felt the best on my hand.”

“Jenn loved that the Lumino Setting suspended the center stone and was complimented by a row of round diamonds on the band and even on the prongs,” Gilmore said.  “I knew this was the one.”

The ‘One’ Gilmore and Byrd decided on, after visiting the International Diamond Center in Orlando, was the Couture 0371.

“It felt perfect. After trying on many, many rings, it was the one that looked like me and my style,” Byrd said of the ring.  “I didn’t want to leave the store without it.”

But Gilmore wanted to set the stage for what turned out to be quite a show, and already knew when the timing would be just right.

“It started as planning for the first ‘Pixar the Weekend.’  Keith and I are avid Pixar fans,” Byrd said, looking back.  “And while Friday the 13th may not be the most preferred date for an engagement it happens to be the debut date for our favorite Disney movie: Disney-Pixar’s “UP.’”

The day before the couple was set to begin their weekend; Gilmore suggested taking the opportunity to go diving at EPCOT’s The Living Seas.

“I wanted to create a unique ‘Magical Moment’ that was more creative than the typical proposal at Cinderella’s Castle and represented our ‘Spirit of Adventure,’” Gilmore said.  “Epcot DiveQuest is a unique scuba diving experience inside The Seas with Nemo & Friends Pavilion at the Epcot theme park.  I naturally chose this exclusive location as the ‘stage’ for my greatest adventure: betrothing Jennifer M. Byrd.”

But Byrd, worn out from the heat, almost passed on the dive.

“We had walked around EPCOT all day, taking photos of Pixar character’s and when it came time for our dive, I was so exhausted,” Byrd said.  “The heat had gotten to me at that point, but after a little convincing from Keith, we went ahead with it.”

After a tour from the divemaster, the couple was allowed to swim by themselves, but Gilmore had already disappeared to the bottom of the tank.

“In the open area and I see this shiny, steel Mickey Head shape on the floor of the aquarium, then I see Keith reach for the Mickey head and pick it up.  At this point I am getting mad at him because all I can think is that you are not supposed to be touching anything in the aquarium,” Byrd said.  “Then he flips the Mickey Head up to expose the box and a Mickey Mouse figure is holding my engagement.”

The moment, for Byrd, was indeed magical.

“I inhaled water, started crying and hyperventilating. This was the best moment of my life,” Byrd said. “This was the moment I had been waiting for.”

Naturally the newly engaged couple plans to wed at Disney’s wedding pavilion in the Fall of 2012, and is taking their time to make sure that, once again, things will be perfect.

“We cannot select a date until 12 months prior so we have time to look at reception venues and all the details in advance,” Gilmore said. “We hope to have a Wedding as unique and custom as our proposal along with a few surprise guests.”

The reigning prince and only son of Grace Kelly first announced his engagement to former Olympic swimmer Whittstock in June of 2010, having previously been seen together four years before at the opening ceremony of the Torino Olympics in February of 2006.

Having attended the wedding of William and Kate last month, Albert and Whittstock opened the doors to the castle for a recent interview with German television channel ZDF regarding their upcoming nuptials, in which they spoke enthusiastically about the three day celebration.

The religious wedding ceremony will take place on July 2; an open air affair, held in the Palace courtyard, explained Albert, where guests including family, foreign royals, their friends from the Olympic movement and also artists and musicians will witness.

The location was chosen by the bride-to-be and groom because of its space, holding up to 800 people, which is about 300 more than Saint Nicholas Cathedral, where Albert’s parents Princess Grace and Prince Rainier wed in 1956.

Although it is the bride’s desire to not give away too much, the couple has revealed a few details.  The once playboy prince has been working towards transforming himself into a champion for the environment and charitable causes.  To that end the chosen transport for the day will be an eco-conscious Lexus.

The bride will wear a gown designed by Giorgio Armani for the festivities which they hope to share with their fellow citizens by hosting a series of concerts and a light show that will be open to the public.

The news is not entirely surprising, as the pair has known each other for over nine years; Coppola first met the lead singer for the French rock band Phoenix while producing the soundtrack for her first film “The Virgin Suicides” in 1999.  The two have also collaborated on “Lost in Translation,” the movie that won Coppola the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay, as well as “Marie Antoinette” and her latest movie “Somewhere.” 

In November of 2006 Coppola gave birth to her first child, daughter Rommy, and later confirmed that Mars was the father.  In 2009, mars himself announced that the director was pregnant with their first child, daughter Cosima, born in June of 2010.

The couple’s latest collaboration it seems, is the planning of their wedding, set for some time in the summer of 2011.  Although Coppola has spoken frequently of her love for Paris, the city she calls home, and has previously called it a film-makers dream, the couple is planning on tying the knot in Italy.

The wedding will be held in the Palazzo Margherita, a 19th-century villa owned by her family.  Her father, director Francis Ford Coppola most well-known for his Academy Award winning Godfather movies, has renovated and rebuilt the villa. 

This will be the second wedding for Coppola, who was previously married to fellow director Spike Jonze; after almost a decade of friendship the two married in 1999, but divorced in 2003.

Perhaps to serves as inspiration, she is also currently the host of the CW reality show “Shedding for the Wedding,” in which couples compete to lose weight while vying to win their dream wedding.  

Rue’s own wedding took place last week in an intimate ceremony overlooking the beach in California, where she tied the knot with her fiancé Kevin Price. 

“I’ve never been happier,” Rue told US Weekly magazine.  “I feel so lucky to have found someone as kind, funny and smart as Kevin.”

The couple decided not to follow the tradition that dictates that couples not see each other on the day of the ceremony, and chose instead to go on a romantic stroll by the ocean.

“Went for a long walk on the beach w/ fiancé,” she Tweeted.

Rue was previously married to director/writer/producer Mischa Livingstone in 2001but the couple split after six years.  Rue then became engaged to Price, a school teacher in 2009.

After two years the couple finally exchanged wedding rings  during an outdoor ceremony at the Bel Air Bay Club in Malibu with just over 100 of their closest friends and family members watching.

The traditional Jewish ceremony, complete with chuppah and the breaking of the glass, had a vintage garden theme and was held on the terraced gardens of the Bay Club, and the couple danced to the song Everlasting Love, according to PEOPLE.

Trilliant Cuts

Many are brides are classicists, preferring the traditional look of a round solitaire engagement ring, or the classic three stone design.  However, there are always women who are looking for something just a little different, something that will stand out in a crowd, and for that reason triangular cuts are expected to make a splash this spring.

Perhaps it is partly due to the recent sale of the Bvlgari Blue; a ring comprised of two triangular cut diamonds, one a 9.87 carat colorless diamond, and the other a 10.95 carat Vivid blue diamond.  Although the ring was originally bought for $1 million in 1972, it was sold at auction in New York this past October for an astounding $15.7 million.

The settings we can expect to see for Trilliant cuts this spring however, are likely to follow to the same rule as other fancy shapes like Marquis, which is to keep it simple.  For example, the Paradiso 3041 from Verragio has all the elements to make it the perfect setting for a triangular cut this spring.

Featuring a clean shank on the outside of the band, a Trilliant cut would not fight for the spotlight, but the scrolling design inside of the band not only ensures that the ring will stay upright on your finger, it also adds an interesting, almost hidden detail to the design.

Pretty in Pink

Rose gold, a precious metal with a little splash of color, is supposed to see a rise in popularity soon, whether the engagement ring is all pink or two toned, it is a trend that is sure to shake things up.

Newly wed and country music star Leann Rimes recently displayed a custom engagement ring, designed in part by her husband Eddie Cibrian. While mostly thought up by Cibrian and a friend, Rimes herself had a little input, requesting to have tiny rose cut diamonds set in rose gold fleur-de-lis that are connected to the band.

Colored Stones

It seems that the demand for colored gemstones is not losing any steam, inspired by the recent royal engagement and subsequent wedding craze caused by the marriage of Prince William and Kate Middleton, who famously became engaged with his mother Diana’s sapphire engagement ring.

New fiancé, New Jersey Nets player Kris Humphries popped the question just six months after the couple got together after surprising her at home.  The Power forward was waiting for Kardashian in her bedroom, on bended knee, with the words “Will You Marry Me” spelled out in rose petals, according to PEOPLE.

 ”I didn’t expect this at all,” Kardashian, 30, told PEOPLE about the surprise proposal. “I was in such shock. I never thought it would happen at home, and I never thought now.”

Surprised though she may have been, the news was inevitable considering the amount of time Kardashian has spent talking about her desire to get married and her life as a serial dater.  However most fans believed it would be her ex-boyfriend Reggie Bush that would pop the question, after having survived three years and at least one breakup in the public eye. 

Since their final breakup in 2010, Kardashian briefly dated Dallas Cowboy wide receiver Miles Austin, however the two reportedly broke up by September due to the intense media scrutiny that Kardashian and her family draws. 

Notoriously close with her family, Humphries was sure to ask her parents in advance.

 ”He came to Bruce and myself and asked us for Kim’s hand in marriage,” mother Kris Jenner told PEOPLE, speaking about herself and Kardashian’s Stepfather Bruce Jenner.  ”And it was really just so cute the way that he wanted to surprise her.”

And despite being incredibly close with her two sisters Khloe and Kourtney, Kardashian was still able to surprise them in turn when the family met for a special dinner thrown my Kris Jenner. 

“We had no idea.  We were both surprised at the dinner when Kim came out with her big rock and she started waving it in the air,” Kourtney said.

The ‘big rock’ Kourtney was referring to is an over 20 carat, custom designed diamond engagement ring Humphries picked out himself, reportedly worth around $2 million.

“I just knew I wanted it to be big,” Humphries told PEOPLE.

No word on the plans for the wedding yet, which we can safely assume it will be a televised event, but certain details have already been decided.

“I would assume that we would both be maids of honor,” Khloe told People.  “We’re assuming, because otherwise there would be a war,” Kourtney added.

If we would have to recommend one of our engagement rings, our best bet would have been the Paradiso-3007P but we would have to really build up that carat weight to come close to 20.5 carats.

The fashion mogul sat down with Oprah for his first television interview in 20 years, as part of her farewell season, and talked about designing his only daughter’s wedding gown.

“I want to just give her something that she’d really treasure and give her something that would be really amazing,” Lauren told Oprah.  “I want her to feel fantastic.”

Lauren’s only daughter Dylan, who is also the founder of Dylan’s Candy Bar, an almost iconic destination for New Yorkers and tourists alike on the Upper East Side, is getting married to hedge fund manager Paul Arrouet next month. 

For her part, the 37 year old has nothing but praise for the design, as she has described it as ‘the most amazing thing’ when she saw it.

“I told my fiancé, ‘I may sleep in it. I might wear it the next day,’” she added.  “It’s really beautiful. I know that every bit of his energy and heart went into making sure that I liked it.”

His design’s, he explained, have always been more about lifestyle than trend. 

“The clothes that I design and everything I’ve done is about life and how people live and how they want to live and how they dream they’ll live,’ he said. ‘That’s what I do.”

And although he told Oprah that he experiences a certain amount of fear with every design he unveils this time, the stakes were raised.

“I had to do something that was better than ever before. When you do something for your family or your daughter,” he told Oprah.  “I mean it’s the only daughter I have, beautiful girl.”
